HISTORY​
​Established on November 20th of 2020, the Small Business Administration (SBA) is the primary agency tasked with advocating for small business owners and overseeing the acquisition, distribution, and communication of crucial entrepreneurial information.

Using our agency, citizens of Liberty County can obtain the financial wherewithal, assistance, and licensure to own a business and engage in the beautiful pursuit of business ownership! As an entrepreneur, you can develop and exercise your skills in team management, product or service distribution, and learn ways to turn your idea into a multi-figure profit!

BUSINESS LICENSES
Obtaining a business license is the first step to becoming a business owner within Liberty County!

The secret sauce to achieving such success comes from our agency's emphasis on proper education and licensure before allowing residents to pursue their dreams. Your ventures are important, but you need a plan! In this section we will detail how to begin the business acquisition process:
WHAT DOES IT TAKE?
Aside from being an initiative and entreprenurial individual, all aspiring business owners must take it upon themselves to ensure that they meet ALL of the requirements to obtain our license.
THE SBA LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
Prior to attempting to obtain a license, an applicant must:​

be a citizen of Liberty County,​

possess citizenship for at least one month consecutively,

be a citizen in good-standing,
-
be a member in good-standing,
-
actively conduct his or her business operations (if property is owned),

not have a previously revoked license.

FAILURE TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS HEREIN and while in possession of the license may result in denial/revokation with cause.

WHAT NEXT?
If you meet all of our requirements, you are ready to decide which license to purchase! License classes differentiate high roleplay value properties from low roleplay value properties. Each license class allows you to pick from a set of designated properties that fall within a given class. Here are the classes and prices below:

Yes, if you are not seeking to own a property at this time, but want your license, you are ready to apply for a license! Just in case you have missed any details, we have provided a crash course of how to get your license below!
HOW TO GET A BUSINESS LICENSE
All aspiring business owners are required to obtain a license to conduct their business.​
If seeking to own a property after licensure, aspiring business owners are advised to visit our properties database and view properties that are on the market and if a specific property meets his or her needs. (Optional to obtain license)​

If you have found the right property for you and your business, you must meet the requirements to own a business license or property. (Optional to obtain license)

If you meet the requirements, you must now a pick a license!

Class A - CZ$2,750 - 19 properties
Class B - CZ$1,500 - 11 properties
Class C - CZ$750 - 5 properties

Finally, once you have picked a license, you are ready to complete the application!

PROPERTIES
When in possession of a license, picking a property is always the hardest part. There are so many factors to account for, including but not limited to your business model and the best customer location!
​
You're in luck, because Liberty County works as a liaison to the Small Business Administration in order to regularly open properties around the county for prospective business owners to purchase! Liberty County has 19 different properties to pick from depending on which license you possess.

Utilize the Property Catalog to view our list of properties and their various statuses:​
CATALOG TERMINOLOGY
OFF-MARKET: Properties with this status are not on sale as they have already been purchased.
​
OFFER PENDING: Properties with this status are not on sale as a buyer has already initiated the buying process on this property with the SBA.
​
FOR SALE: Properties with this status are available for purchase! Get them before they become "offer pending"!
​
RESTRICTED: Properties with this status are prohibited from purchase by the public due to community regulations.
Once a licensed business owner has perused the database and has ultimately made a decision as to which property they would like, it is time for the request and transaction process.
As stated above, business owners must have a plan before embarking on their entrepreneurial quest. Upon submitting your property request, business owners are asked to attach a file of his or her business proposal. In this section we will discuss how to fill out this document:
FILLING OUT A BUSINESS PROPOSAL
Your property must have an associated business proposal, please follow the steps below to successfully complete and submit the proposal.
STEP 1: MAKE A COPY
1. OPEN THE DOCUMENT BY CLICKING THE "BUSINESS PROPOSAL DOCUMENT" BUTTON ABOVE, then select FILE.

2. On the FILE menu, press Make a copy.
​
3. On the new window that pops up, it will ask you to write a name for the document. Please name it using the following format:

NOTE: Do not put the property title, put the "DBA" name.

4. Once you have put a name, select the checkbox that reads "Share it with the same people".
5. Lastly, select Make a copy.
STEP 2: FILL OUT ALL INPUTS
6. Modify the date to reflect today's date.
​
7. Follow all instructions provided on the document for date, first name, last name, and username. Do not forget to put a co-owner if you have one.

In section 1 (Property Information):

8. Input all information about your property using the dropdowns and instructions provided. Please put all information accurately using the property catalog as a reference.​

In section 2 (Business Information):

9. Answer all questions found in each section of the table about your business. Please note that some different businesses have products, services, or both, so put whichever applies to your business. (I.E. If you buy the tool store, you might have products you sell and services you provide)

10. The Special Requests Section is not required, but read the instructions provided on the section before completing it if you choose to do so.
STEP 3: PUT NAME OF DOC IN APPLICATION
11. At the end of your property application it will request the name of the business proposal document, please accurately type the name in the textbox.
You have completed your property application, congratulations! Please wait for up to 72 hours (3 days) for a response and the invoice.
LEGALITIES OF OWNERSHIP
As an agency that advocates for the protection of small business owners, the Small Business Administration works alongside local law enforcement to protect the property rights of business owners. In this section we will discuss these various rights and privileges:
RIGHTS OF BUSINESS OWNERS
Right to Trespass

All private business owners reserve the right to trespass any individual(s) from their business for any reason.​
​

Limited Liability​
​
All business owners reserve the right to utilize a limited liability structure where the owner him or herself is not guilty for:
a) wrongdoing committed by an employee,​
b) harm caused to an employee or customer on the premesis,
c) wrongful termination of an employee,
d) unpaid wages,
e) illicit activites performed on the property,
​
unless the causes of a, b, c, d, and e are directly and substantially the result of the business and/or it's owner. Should litigation ensue, the defendant will be the business name, and the representative will be the owner. If not the owner, the owner must assign an authority figure within the organization to represent the business in court.

Right to Profit​
​
Business owners and organizational stakeholders reserve the right to make decisions that will benefit the profitability of their business contingent that the decisions are ethical and non-discriminatory. ​
